Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Dubois, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Rotating shifts:

  • 07:00 - 19:30
  • 11:00 - 23:30
  • 19:00 - 07:30
• Every other weekend required
• Shift blocks of 6 shifts available
• Rotations typically every 4-6 weeks
• No floating to other units for ED RNs
• No local candidates within 50-mile radius
• Must have Pennsylvania license or compact license in hand
• Trauma experience preferred

Required Certifications

• CPR
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NIH Stroke Certification (annual renewal required)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)

Required Competencies & Training

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
• Competency Exam (as applicable)
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) Certification for Emergency Department, Behavioral Health, and Acute Care Units (annual certification required)
• Comprehensive Crisis Management certificate (or equivalent MAB/CPI) for Emergency Department, Behavioral Health, and Acute Care Units (annual certification required)

Experience Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse
• Years of Experience: Not explicitly stated; trauma experience preferred (assume minimum 1+ year experience in specialty)

System & Documentation Requirements

• Experience with Cerner electronic health record system preferred
• Government-issued photo ID required
• Background checks including:

  • 7-year criminal search within 1 year of start
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM
  • HHS/OIG
  • Education verification (transcripts, diplomas, or 3rd party verification)
• PA FBI Fingerprinting required within 12 months of start
• NURSYS verification required for RN license
• Professional references: 2 within last 3 years
• Skills checklist required annually

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test (PPD, Q Gold, or TSpot) within 6 months or chest X-ray within 5 years
• Vaccinations or documented immunity/declination for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (series, titer, or declination)
  • Varicella (Chickenpox)
  • Seasonal Flu vaccine or declination (mask required if declined during flu season)
  • COVID vaccine or declination
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Alcohol breathalyzer test not required for this location

Additional Notes

• Photo for badge required (passport style, no filters)
• Orientation packet, medical surveillance checklist, and various declination forms must be completed prior to start
• No onsite classes available for MAB/CPI; online certification accepted
• Annual certification requirements for certain trainings and competencies

This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with emergency department or trauma experience who is comfortable with rotating shifts and meets the licensure and certification requirements for Pennsylvania.
