Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (CVOR) - Travel/Contract

Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Schedule: 4x10 hour shifts, 0600-1630
Weekend Call: Required - 4 shifts per 6-week schedule

Job Description

• Position: CVOR Registered Nurse
• Experience in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) required
• Open heart surgery experience required
• Must be able to scrub during procedures
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• First-time travelers accepted

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of specialty nursing experience (CVOR, open heart surgery)
• Prior travel experience NOT required

Certifications & Licenses

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or ARC required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• State nursing license required prior to start

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Criminal background check within 90 days, including all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• E-Verify and I9 documentation required upon hire
• Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana), updated annually
• Physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
• Immunizations and health documentation required:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) documentation or titers
  • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
  • Varicella documentation or titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
• N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start, updated annually (client may complete onsite if needed)

Competency Requirements

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (score 80% or higher) within 3 years of start
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam with specific scoring requirements for cardiac specialties (updated annually)
• Color blindness testing (online or in-person) required
• Other unit-specific certifications may apply based on assignment

Additional Requirements

• Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
• Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information
• Skills checklist required prior to start and updated annually
• Facility-specific orientation modules must be completed before start date

Notes

• Locals within 60 miles may be accepted at a different rate (not relevant here)
• Weekend call is mandatory as part of the schedule
• First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply
