Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity
Location: South Bend, Indiana
Specialty: Registered Nurse – Cardiac/Telemetry Unit (7th Floor Intermediate)
Job Details
- Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Floating: To like or lesser units
- Patient Ratio: 1:5
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Experience Requirements
- Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years preferred (1 year required)
- Cardiac/Telemetry Experience: Must have telemetry and cardiac/stroke experience
- Cardiac Drip Experience: Some experience required (e.g., Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Lasix)
- Other Clinical Experience: Exposure to renal patients (hemodialysis done by outside company) and all modes of oxygenation except ventilators
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
Certifications Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA only
- BCLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA only
- NIH Stroke Certification
- Active state nursing license prior to start date (pending license accepted if active before start)
Additional Requirements
- Must pass a telemetry rhythm identification quiz (proficiency in reading and reacting to cardiac rhythms is critical)
- Must live outside a 50-mile radius (locals not accepted)
- First-time travel nurses accepted

- Short Term Acute Care Facility
- Total Staffed Beds: 449
- Charting System: Cerner
- Scrub Colors: Royal Blue or White
Background & Compliance
- Background check required within 90 days of start, covering last 7 years and all states lived/worked in
- Education verification or copy of diploma/transcripts required
- Physical exam required
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (T-Spots not accepted)
- Drug screen: Negative 12-panel drug test within 30 days of start
- Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required prior to start (flu season October–May)
- COVID vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required (medical exemption must be signed by healthcare provider)
Additional Notes
- Candidates must complete facility-specific modules (~8-10 hours) prior to start; paid for completion
- Photo for badge required (passport-style, solid background)
- Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement required before start
