Key Job Details
- Minimum Specialty Experience: 2 years (Note: First-time travelers not accepted)

- Holiday Work:
- If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, traveler expected to work it

- If 3 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work two of them
- Major Holidays Include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day
- Orientation: Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
- Locals Accepted: Yes, at the same rate
- Compliance: Full compliance required to start on time; delays result in 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
Required Experience & Skills
- Blood bank experience is mandatory
- MLT (Medical Laboratory Technician) credentials not accepted
Certifications & Competencies
- BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or ARC accepted; not required for Microbiology Techs and Med Techs
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for certain specialties (not specifically for this role)
- Other certifications such as PALS, NRP, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification, and Tech Cert Verification may be relevant depending on specialty but are not explicitly required for this Laboratory role
- Competency Exams:
- Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for RNs and LVNs only)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (not applicable for this specialty)
Health & Compliance Requirements
- Background Check: Required within 30 days of start; must include multiple checks (criminal, sex offender, education verification, etc.)
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; candidates cannot start with results pending
- Physical Exam: Required by agency (not client); must be within 1 year of start
- Immunizations & Titers:
- TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 12 months of start; if positive, additional documentation required
- TB Questionnaire required annually for all candidates
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer required
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required
- Hepatitis B: Series, surface antibody titer, or signed declination required
- Flu Vaccine or Declination required (strongly encouraged during flu season)
- Other Vaccinations: Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap highly recommended but not required for clearance
- Additional Health Documents: May be required depending on specialty

- Education Verification: Required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)
- Skills Checklist: Must be updated within 12 months
- Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)
- References: Two clinical references required by agency (not client)
Facility & Policy Requirements
- Candidates must review and sign the facility’s Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start
- Floating within the facility as needed, within scope of practice
- Full compliance with all facility-specific policies and documentation is mandatory
Summary
This is a travel/contract Laboratory position in Atlanta, GA requiring at least 2 years of blood bank experience. The role does not accept first-time travelers or MLT credentials. Candidates must be prepared to work every third weekend and cover major holidays as assigned. Compliance with extensive health, background, and competency requirements is mandatory.
