Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Augusta, Georgia
Contract Length: 14 weeks

Job Summary

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics
• Work Setting: Main Operating Room (OR)
• Surgical Areas: General, Neuro, Spine, Ortho, Robotics, Urology, Vascular, Colorectal
• Required Experience: Minimum 1 year in specialty (1st time travelers accepted)
• Circulate and Scrub experience required (HARD STOP)
• Unit Systems: Epic, Pyxis, 2 DaVinci XI Robots
• Ratio/Census: 16 rooms, average daily census of 35
• Scrub Color: Provided by facility

Schedule & Work Conditions

• Rotating weekends
• Rare floating
• Call Requirements: 7-8 calls in a 6-week schedule plus 1 weekend call and 1-2 weekend shifts
• Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
• Holidays: Expected to work major holidays if they fall during assignment (up to 2 holidays)
• Orientation Hours: Non-billable hours based on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC accepted
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on specialty area
• Other certifications (PALS, NRP, EFM, NIH Stroke, etc.) may be required based on clinical area (refer to specialty requirements)

Experience & Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience in specialty
• Prior travel experience not explicitly required
• Must have circulate and scrub experience in OR
• Clinical screening required to determine fit before final approval

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Full compliance required to start on time; delays in compliance may push start date by 2 weeks
• Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days prior to start
• Education Verification: Degree verification required; can be pending at start with proof of processing
• State License: Must be valid for Georgia
• NURSYS Verification: Annual verification within 30 days prior to start
• Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; cannot start with results pending
• Physical Exam: Required within 1 year of start
• TB Testing: Negative PPD, QGold, or TSpot within 12 months; TB questionnaire required annually
• Immunizations:

  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B series or signed declination
  • Flu vaccine or declination required during flu season
• Competency Exams: Medication, Dysrhythmia/EKG, Color Blind Testing, and general competency exams required as applicable
