Job Description

• Inpatient pediatric and acute care Occupational Therapy (OT) needs.
• Inpatient and pediatric experience preferred.
• Perform complex diagnostic evaluations following departmental and professional guidelines.
• Verify appropriateness of referrals and communicate with providers as needed.
• Review patient medical history and select, administer, and interpret a broad range of standardized and non-standardized tests to assess functional status related to cardiopulmonary, developmental, musculoskeletal, neurological, and sensorimotor functions.
• Integrate clinical knowledge into decisions and recommendations.

Required Qualifications

• Current certification by the National Board of Certified Occupational Therapy.
• State licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Massachusetts.
• Higher years of specialty experience expected (not explicitly stated, but implied to be significant due to complexity of role).

Certifications & Competencies Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or American Red Cross only; required for all clinical/allied positions.

• Immunizations and proof required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (Tdap after age 11 acceptable, no declinations).
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray (annual requirement).
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - proof of 2 vaccinations or positive titers.
  • Hepatitis B - series and/or declination accepted with documentation.
  • Varicella - proof of 2 vaccinations or positive titer.
• Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved exemption required annually by specified deadlines.
• COVID-19 vaccination series or approved medical/religious exemption required; seasonal COVID vaccine preferred but not mandatory.
• Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within last 12 months (not required for APNs).
• RespSafety Clearance required for all travelers; facility-specific fit testing done onsite.
