Description

Registered Nurse - Med-Surg Unit (Adult Geriatrics & Pediatrics)

Location: Fort Defiance, Arizona
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Provide nursing care on a 20-bed medical-surgical unit serving both adult geriatrics and pediatric patients.
Staffing ratios:
- Non-COVID patients: typically 4:1, max 5:1
- COVID patients: typically 2:1, max 3:1
May assist with flu immunization clinics as needed.
Expected to attend staff meetings.
Occasional floating to other departments where qualified, which may include taking patient loads or performing task-oriented duties (e.g., answering call lights, phones).

Shift Details

12-hour shifts, assigned but must be flexible to work other shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Required Certifications

American Heart Association BLS
ACLS
PALS

Experience Requirements

Minimum 3 years of med-surg nursing experience.
Minimum 1 year pediatric nursing experience.
Must be comfortable working with both adult and pediatric patients.

Orientation

Orientation sessions are held on Mondays only.
Missing the compliance deadline will result in attending the next scheduled orientation.

Additional Notes

Prior travel experience is required for this position.
