Travel RN Opportunity – Emergency Department

Location: Martinsville, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Specialty: Emergency Department RN
• Shift: Days (11 AM – 11 PM)
• Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed
• Weekend Hours: As needed, every other weekend
• Call Requirements: As needed
• Number of Openings: 1
• Patient Population: All ages
• Patient Ratios: 1:5
• Unit Beds: 34
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): Medhost

Required Qualifications

• Licensure: Registered Nurse license valid in Virginia
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention/Handle with Care)
  • NIH Certification
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Emergency Department nursing
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Job Details

• Role: Provide nursing care in a busy Emergency Department
• Common Diagnoses/Treatments: Chest Pain, Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Psychiatric cases
• Float Requirements: As needed
• Dress Code: Scrubs of any color; casual wear not allowed
• Personality Fit: Professional, positive, compassionate, team player

Additional Information

• Orientation occurs bi-weekly on Tuesdays
• Random drug screening and criminal background consent required
• Facility is a full-service acute-care hospital with 220 licensed beds
• Emergency Department is part of a hospital accredited for chest pain and heart failure care
