Job Opportunity: RN Critical Care (Travel)

Location: Concord Township, Ohio
Contract Length: 12 weeks


Shift Details

  • Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  • Every other weekend and holiday rotation
  • Floating requirement across all inpatient areas including ICU, Stepdown, and Med/Surg
  • Nurse to patient ratio:
    • Med/Surg and Stepdown: 1:4-6
    • ICU: 1:2-3

Required Experience

  • Specialty: RN Critical Care
  • Years of Experience: Not explicitly stated; assume standard critical care RN experience expected (typically 1-2 years minimum)

  • UHS Competency Exam (minimum 80% score, completed within 1 year prior to start)
  • UHS Core Competencies (80% passing score, includes HIPAA, Joint Commission-NPSG, OSHA topics)
  • Physical/Health Statement (pre-employment physical exam within 1 year, able to work without restrictions)
  • Influenza Vaccine (required October-March; declination requires mask and specific forms)
  • 2 Step PPD OR IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) test within last 6 months (annual requirement)
  • MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap vaccinations or acceptable declinations/positive titers as specified
  • Fit Test (completed within 1 year prior to start)
  • UHS Criminal Background Check (within 6 months prior to start)
  • UHS OIG Search, SAM/EPLS/GSA/OFAC verifications (within 6 months prior to start)
  • UHS Drug Screen (10 panel, within 60 days of start)
  • UHS Module Completion Certificate (Non Employee Safety and Compliance Training, renewal annually)

Additional Requirements

  • Resume including education and work history
  • Two professional references within last 2 years
  • Job application and employment history form specific to University Hospitals
  • UHS Badge Photo (headshot, shoulders up, plain background, JPEG)
  • Driver’s License or State ID (non-expired)
  • Skill-specific checklist and competency exams for clinical skills (completed within 1 year prior to start)

Work Environment

  • Floating across multiple inpatient units within the hospital system
  • Nurse to patient ratios vary by unit acuity
  • Night shift with weekend and holiday rotations

Notes

  • Temporary RN licenses are NOT accepted; must have a valid permanent license
  • COVID-19 vaccine preferred but not required; medical or religious exemptions accepted
  • Background checks and verifications must be current and completed as specified
