Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Snellville, Georgia
Contract Length: 8 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Patient Population: Adults
• Unit: Labor & Delivery (L&D)
• Work Setting:

  • 13 L&D Rooms
  • 2 Operating Rooms (ORs)
  • Approximately 200 deliveries per month
• Systems Used: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR
• Scrubs: Provided by facility
• Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
• Schedule: Every other weekend required
• Floating: Possible within Women’s Service Line
• Holiday Work:

  • If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, traveler expected to work it
  • If 2 major holidays, expected to work both
  • If 3 major holidays, expected to work 2 of them
• Major Holidays Include: New Year’s Eve/Day, Spring Break (no RTO), Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day

Experience Requirements

• Minimum Specialty Experience: 2 years
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required; 1st timers accepted

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Compliance & Orientation

• Full compliance required to start on time
• Orientation hours depend on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
• Background check and education verification must be completed prior to start
• Drug screening required within 30 days of start (negative result mandatory before starting)

Additional Requirements

• Health Documents:

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
  • TB questionnaire updated annually
  • Immunizations: MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B, Flu vaccine or declination
• Competency Exams:

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam
  • Color Blind Testing
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (if applicable)
• Background Checks:

  • Must include county, national sex offender, criminal search, and education verification
• References: Two clinical references required

Work Environment & Expectations

• Floating within Women’s Service Line possible
• Scrubs provided by facility
• Must adhere to dress and professional appearance policies
• Must review and sign facility code of conduct prior to start

This position is suitable for RNs with at least 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery or related OB settings, who hold current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications, and are comfortable working in a fast-paced maternity unit with a high delivery volume. Prior travel experience is not required.
