Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Odessa, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Must be willing to float to other med/surg/tele units as assigned
• Facility will consider 48 hours per week or 36/48 alternating schedules
• Patient ratios up to 6:1

Required Experience

• Specialty: Registered Nurse

• CHEMO (Chemotherapy) – as applicable
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – as applicable
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) – as applicable
• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) – as applicable
• NIH Stroke Certification – as applicable
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (annual update)
• Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) required for RNs (Pharmacology exam onsite at orientation)

Licensure & Verification

• State License verification required within 30 days of start
• NURSYS Verification for RN, LPN/LVN, AP within 30 days of start
• Tech Cert Verification (National) within 30 days of start

Background Checks & Compliance

• 7 Year Background Check required within 30 days of start; updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Facility-specific documents including Standards of Conduct, Dress Code Policy, Standards of Behavior, COVID Declination (if applicable), HIPAA and Fair Warning Quiz Modules, Orientation and Safety Training Modules, Annual TB Questionnaire (updated annually)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical Exam within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract)
• Fit Mask Test within 1 year, updated annually (N-95 or Halyard Orange Duckbill masks accepted; PAPR not accepted)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
• Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (PPD, QGold, or TSpot within 1 year; Chest X-Ray within 2 years for positive responders; annual TB questionnaire required)
• Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; booster if low/equivocal titer
• Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series (3), or declination required
• Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; booster if low/equivocal titer
• Drug Testing: Negative 10 panel drug screen within 30 days of start; plan for completion within 72 hours of signing contract
• Flu Vaccine or Declination required during flu season (Oct-April); mask required if declination submitted

Additional Requirements

• Copy of Resume/Application required
• Skills Checklist updated annually
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required as applicable

• Floating between med/surg and telemetry units
• Patient ratios up to 6:1
• Flexible scheduling options (48 hours/week or alternating 36/48 hours)
