Job Opportunity: PCU RN for ER Holding Area
Location: Savannah, Georgia
Position Overview
- Provide care for patients boarded in the Emergency Room (ER) within a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting.
- PCU is housed in the ER with a patient-to-nurse ratio of approximately 1:4-5, adjusted for acuity.
- The ER treats about 120 patients per day, including cardiac, neurological, orthopedic, and critical care cases.
- Common treatments include all drips and management of STEMI and stroke patients.
Requirements
- Active Georgia or Compact RN license.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association).
- Minimum of 2 years recent PCU experience in a similar-sized ER that manages STEMI and stroke patients.
- Prior travel experience required: Must have successfully completed at least 1 previous travel assignment.
- References should be from recent assignments.
Work Environment & Details
- ER has 50 beds/trauma bays and 2 separate psych/seclusion rooms.
- Security is in-house 24/7 within the ER.
- Respiratory Therapy (RT) is available 24/7 but not housed in the ER; RT performs ABGs, breathing treatments, and EKGs upon request.
- RNs are responsible for reading their own cardiac monitor strips (Spacelabs monitors) and saving them into patient charts.
- X-Ray and CT imaging are available in the ER with dedicated techs for transport.
- No phlebotomy performed by RNs; phlebotomy is not done in the ER.
- Shift length: 12-hour day shifts.

- 13 weeks (interpreted from contract_length value).
