Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Burlington, Vermont
Contract Length: 32 weeks


Job Details

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (MRI Tech)
  • Schedule:
    • No call
    • 1-2 weekends per month
    • Must be flexible with schedule
    • Must work 2 out of 4 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year's Day
    • Monday to Sunday coverage, no block schedules
  • Facility Type: Teaching hospital experience required
  • Distance: Distance measured by straight line, not driving distance
  • Transportation:
    • Public transportation is NOT accessible
    • Reliable personal or rental vehicle strongly recommended
    • Vehicles should have all-season or snow tires from November through April

Requirements

  • Licenses/Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) required (AHA certified)
    • ARRT or ARMRIT license
    • MR advanced licensure required
    • ACLS and PALS certifications may be required depending on unit/job
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 1 year of experience in specialty (MRI Tech)
    • Epic experience within the past 2 years is required and non-negotiable
    • Phillips equipment experience required
    • Prior travel experience preferred (not required)
  • Other:
    • Teaching hospital experience required
    • All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained
    • Complete work history including bed count, EMR, and facility type required

Orientation & Training

  • Bi-weekly orientations on Mondays
  • Must complete EPIC and Cornerstone modules prior to start (approx. 8 hours, not billable)
  • Must provide screenshot of module completion

Background & Verification

  • Background check within 30 days of start covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
  • Education verification based on highest degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s in relevant fields)
  • State license primary source verification within 30 days of start and upon expiration
  • NURSYS verification for applicable professions
  • Skills checklist within 12 months
  • 2 professional references from assignments within last 3 years
  • 2-year verification of most recent clinical work history

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • N95 Fit Test required prior to assignment and updated annually (specific mask types accepted)
  • Immunizations/vaccinations required or documented declinations:
    • Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (updated annually)
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
    • Hepatitis B series and titer or signed declination
    • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
    • Seasonal flu vaccine or exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
    • COVID-19 vaccination or declination required
    • Pneumonia vaccination or declination required if working at NY facility
  • Drug testing may be required depending on facility location

Facility Specific Requirements

  • Vermont Adult and Child Abuse Registry Consent Form required
  • COVID Questionnaire and COVID Testing Protocol must be completed prior to start
  • Photo for badge (passport style, plain background) required 2 weeks prior to start
  • Auto insurance required if using personal vehicle for work (Home Health and Hospice specialties)
  • Review dress code and telephone usage policies prior to start
  • Auto Registration Form must be completed within 48 hours of signed contract
  • Emergency Contact Form and Workday Information Attestation must be completed

Additional Notes

  • No block schedules allowed
  • Must maintain mask wearing and social distancing as per COVID protocols
  • Must set up MyChart account to view COVID test results
  • Candidate must provide all required documentation timely to avoid delays

This position is ideal for MRI Technologists with at least 1 year of experience, advanced MR licensure, and recent Epic experience, who are flexible with scheduling and able to work in a teaching hospital environment. Prior travel experience is preferred but not mandatory. Reliable transportation is essential due to limited public transit options.
