Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: MS Days
• Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in specialty (Registered Nurse)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
• Schedule: Every other weekend coverage
• Float Requirement: Must float to like units or assist on unlike units
• Dress Code: Scrubs of any color; no logos allowed
• Certifications Required:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) as applicable
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) as applicable
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure (NRP) as applicable
  • Chemotherapy certification as applicable
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) as applicable
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) as applicable
  • NIH Stroke Certification as applicable (expires annually)
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) as applicable

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Licensure:

  • Primary source online verification of state license required
  • NURSYS verification required for RN
• Background Checks:

  • 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire
  • Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation (New Mexico placements only)
• Education Verification: Must verify highest level of education; transcripts/diplomas accepted as placeholders if needed
• Skills & Competency Exams:

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (80% passing or meet Angoff score)
  • Color Blind Testing (online)
  • Competency Exam (minimum 80% or meet Angoff score)
  • Unit-specific Skills Checklist required annually
• Health Requirements:

  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
  • Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
  • Immunizations or positive titers for:

    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (or declination)
    • Varicella (or documented history)
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
  • COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required (no declinations accepted)
• Other:

  • Clear headshot photo for badge
  • Complete application/resume required
  • 7-year work history verification required

Notes

• Orientation and EPIC training can be attended pending fingerprint clearance, but work on unit cannot begin until clearance is received (1-3 business days turnaround).
• Behavioral Health RNs must have APNA eLearning Center certification for competency-based training on conducting face-to-face assessments for persons in restraint or seclusion prior to start.
• Flu and COVID-19 exemptions require facility review and approval.
