Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Oak Ridge, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse
• Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
• No nights, weekends, holidays, or on-call required
• Float Requirement: Based out of Blount Infusion Center; must float to multiple infusion centers across East Tennessee (Maryville, Lenoir City, Downtown, Oak Ridge, and others) as needed
• Start Date: ASAP
• Travelers requesting time off during holidays will generally not be accommodated (holidays include Valentine's Day, local spring break, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, local fall break, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day)

Required Certifications & Experience

• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - must be current and uploaded as actual certificate (no screenshots/photos)
  • NIHSS Stroke Certification (actual downloaded certificate required)
  • ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Certification or equivalent chemo/bio certificate
  • Chemotherapy administration experience required
• Additional Preferred Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
  • Other certifications may be required depending on unit (check with program management if unclear)
• Experience: Must have chemotherapy administration experience and ONS fundamentals or chemo/bio certification
• EKG Competency: Must pass Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam with 80% or higher within 12 months prior to start
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background Check:

  • Must be completed within 45 days of start and updated annually
  • Includes 7-year SSN trace with complete address history, national and state sex offender checks, criminal searches, abuse registry, and federal checks
  • Alias name attestation required if applicable
• Health Documents:

  • Physical exam within 12 months prior to start, signed by MD, DO, NP, APRN, or PA (Chiropractor not accepted)
  • Negative TB test (QGold or Skin Test) within 1 year; chest x-ray if prior positive
  • Immunizations/vaccinations: MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu vaccine (required for 2025-26 season with no declinations accepted except approved medical/religious exemptions)
  • Drug testing within 45 days of start (specific drug panel required)
• Competency Exams:

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam
  • Core competencies Part I, II, III (minimum 80% pass rate, updated annually)
  • Color Blind Testing within 12 months prior to start
• References: Two supervisory references from the past 3 years required
• Employment Application: Must include 7-year work history with no unexplained gaps over 30 days, active nursing license(s) with state, license number, and expiration date

Additional Notes

• Must be able to pass EKG testing before start date
• Photo for badge required (passport style, solid background, no filters or facial piercings)
• Travelers must comply with facility onboarding and attestation documents
• Local travel within 75 miles radius may be required
