Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Oak Ridge, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse
• Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
• No nights, weekends, holidays, or on-call required
• Float Requirement: Based out of Blount Infusion Center; must float to multiple infusion centers across East Tennessee (Maryville, Lenoir City, Downtown, Oak Ridge, and others) as needed
• Start Date: ASAP
• Must pass EKG testing before start
• Holiday Time Off: No time off during specified holidays (e.g., Valentine's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day) will be accommodated during the contract

Required Certifications & Experience

• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA accepted
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
  • ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Certification (required)
  • Chemotherapy administration experience and ONS fundamentals required
• Additional Preferred Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - preferred for ER
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - for L&D, OBGYN, Mother & Baby units
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - preferred for ER and Psych
• Experience: Must have chemotherapy administration experience (years of experience not explicitly stated, but chemotherapy experience is mandatory)

Competency & Testing Requirements

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required)
• Color Blind Testing (Ishihara test or online, required within 12 months)
• Competency Exam (required)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required within 12 months, minimum 80% score)
• Core Competencies Part I, II, III (required annually, minimum 80% pass rate)

Background & Health Requirements

• Background check within 45 days of start, including:

  • 7-year SSN trace with complete address history
  • Alias verification if applicable
  • National and state sex offender registries
  • National and federal criminal searches
  • State abuse registry
• Physical exam within 12 months, signed by MD, DO, NP, APRN, or PA (fit for duty)
• Negative TB test (QGold or Skin Test) within 1 year; chest x-ray if prior positive
• TB Questionnaire (required)
• Immunizations and Titers:

  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer required
  • Hepatitis B series or titer or declination
  • Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer
• Drug testing within 45 days of start (specific panel required)
• Seasonal Flu Vaccine required for starts on or after 9/8/2025 (no declinations accepted; exemptions only for medical or religious reasons with documentation)

Documentation & Onboarding

• Valid Driver’s License/State ID (color and current)
• I9 form required
• State nursing license verification (must be current and valid for Tennessee)
• NURSYS verification within 30 days of start
• Photo for badge (passport style, solid background, no filters or facial piercings)
• Onboarding attestation and review of facility-specific documents required
• Employment application with 7-year work history, no unexplained gaps over 30 days
• Two supervisory references from the past 3 years required
• Unit-specific skills checklist updated within the last year

Additional Notes

• Must be able to float between multiple infusion centers in East Tennessee
• No holiday time off guaranteed during specified holidays
• Candidate will have opportunity to speak with Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) before accepting or starting the assignment

This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with oncology and chemotherapy experience looking for a travel contract with a stable weekday schedule and no night or weekend shifts.
