Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: MS Nights
• Unit welcomes first-time travelers
• Minimum 1 year of specialty experience required
• Scrubs: Any color, no logos
• Float required to like units or helping hands to unlike units
• Every other weekend coverage

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - mandatory
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - as applicable
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - as applicable
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - as applicable
• CHEMO (Chemotherapy) - as applicable
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - as applicable
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) - as applicable
• NIH Stroke Certification - as applicable (expires annually)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - as applicable

Licensure & Verification

• Primary source online verification of state license required
• NURSYS verification required for RN licenses
• Education verification required (highest level of education)

Competencies & Testing

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (80% score or meet/exceed Angoff score)
• Color Blind Testing (online version acceptable)
• Competency Exam (minimum passing score 80% or Angoff score if higher)
• Annual completion of Core Parts I, II, and III (for subcontractors)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical Exam within 12 months of start
• Fit Mask Test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
• Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
• Negative TB test (2-Step PPD, QGOLD, or TSPOT) within 1 year
• TB Questionnaire within 90 days of start (if positive TB test)
• Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
• Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
• Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history required
• Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start
• Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (10/01 - 03/31)
• COVID-19 Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required (declinations not accepted)

Background & Documentation

• 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire
• Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation (New Mexico placements only)
• Photo for badge required
• Complete employment application/resume required
• 7-year work history verification required
• Unit-specific skills checklist required annually

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
• Orientation and EPIC training allowed pending fingerprint clearance, but no unit work until clearance received
• Behavioral Health RNs must have APNA eLearning Center certification for competency-based training on restraint/seclusion prior to start

This position is suitable for Registered Nurses with at least 1 year of experience, open to first-time travelers, and requires flexibility to float between units and work every other weekend.
