Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Tech (Travel/Contract)
Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina

Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Schedule:
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (3x12s)
- Days, weekends (every other weekend), and call required
- Days off will not be consecutive or the same each week
- Callouts for scheduled shifts must be made up as required by the department
- Floating: Required to float within scope to meet facility needs or between like units
- Block Scheduling: Open to accommodating block scheduling
- Locals: Not accepted (50-mile radius rule from main campus)
- Pending License: Not accepted
- Return to Travel Restrictions:
- Must be gone for 1 year to return as a traveler
- System has a 2-contract limit (can only extend once), then must be gone for 6 months before returning
- Guaranteed Hours: Call off policy allows 2 shifts off per 13-week assignment; beyond that, all contracted hours are guaranteed
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience (higher value confirmed)
- First-time travelers accepted
- Prior travel experience not required

Certifications & Competencies Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): AHA or Military only; documentation must reflect legal name
- BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or Military only; required for Radiology Techs
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required for certain units (ED, OR, Peds ED, PICU, etc.)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required for specific units (L&D, FCCU, NICU)
- Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing: Required for Radiology and Special Procedures (IR) units
- NIH Stroke Certification: Must be updated annually; required for multiple units including Radiology
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication): Required with up to 3 attempts to pass with 80% or higher; remediation required if failed
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required and must be renewed annually; minimum 80% to pass
Background & Health Requirements
- Background check required within 6 months of start
- Education verification or diploma/transcript required
- Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually
- Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days (specific substances listed)
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within last 10 years)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (titer or 2 vaccines)
- Hepatitis B (vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination)
- Varicella (titer or 2 vaccines)
- TB screening required annually (PPD, Q Gold, or Tspot; chest x-ray if positive PPD)
- Flu vaccine required year-round; medical or religious exemptions accepted with facility approval
- COVID-19 vaccination not required but accepted if available

- Must complete and sign various facility-specific documents prior to start, including:
- Job descriptions relevant to role
- Confidentiality and information agreements
- Emergency contact forms
- Staff call out acknowledgements
- Corporate code of conduct
- Professional appearance acknowledgment
- Computer use acknowledgment
- Parking registration (if driving)
- Photo for badge required (passport-style, professional, no large earrings, face piercings, unnatural hair colors, or head coverings unless religious)
- Completion of mandatory orientation modules prior to start
Additional Notes
- Candidates must be prepared for a variable schedule with non-consecutive days off
- Call and weekend work are mandatory parts of the assignment
- Must have Interventional Radiology experience; no exceptions for first-timers but prior travel experience is not required
- Floating within scope and between like units is expected to meet facility needs
This position offers an opportunity to work in a Level III Trauma Center with a robust support system and clear requirements to ensure compliance and readiness.
