Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Travel Contract
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift Details
- Fri-Sun, 7 PM - 7 AM
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA only
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - AHA only
- CHEMO (Chemotherapy) - as applicable
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- NIH Stroke Certification (as required)
- State License Verification (Indiana license pending acceptable with ETA 2 weeks)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of specialty experience in Radiology/Cardiology
- Skillset includes Extremities, Abdomen/GI, Spine/Pelvis, Chest/Thorax, ER, OR, Level 1 Trauma Experience, Surgery/C-Arm
- Equipment experience: GE & Siemens
- Prior travel experience: Not required (First time travelers accepted)
Facility & Unit Information
- Level 1 trauma center
- Supports over 30 Operating Rooms (ORs), 6 ICUs, 70+ bed Emergency Room, and approximately 700 inpatient beds
Call-In Policy
- If a traveler calls in for a contracted shift, they are expected to make up the day during the pay period if working 0.9 FTE
- If unable to make up during the pay period, the shift will be added at the end of the contract
- For 1.2 FTE, call-in shifts will be added to the end of the contract
Required Documentation & Compliance
Background Checks
- Must be completed within 30-90 days of start date
- Includes 7 years of residence/work history, SSN trace, county/state/national criminal checks, sex offender registry, FACIS Level III
- Education verification required (may be pending at start)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit Mask test within 12 months (specific approved respirators required)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (preferred but not required)
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination required
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months
- Seasonal Flu vaccination/documentation required during flu season (9/30 - 3/31); no declinations accepted
Competency & Skills
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (not required for Techs or RRTs)
- Color Blind Testing (Ishihara exam or equivalent)
- Unit Competency Exam required
- Skills Checklist within 12 months and annually thereafter
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Completion of facility-specific forms and packets prior to start (e.g., Look of Assurance, Compliance Checklist, Confidentiality Agreement)
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement including HIPAA
- Mandatory RRT Modules for RRT candidates (22 modules with strict completion deadline)
- Various other facility-specific orientation and compliance documents
Additional Notes
- Valid Driver’s License or Passport required (clear copy)
- Employment application must be current and explain any gaps over 30 days
- Minimum of 2 professional references required from recent employment within 2 years, with appropriate supervisory titles
