Job Opportunity: Social Services (Travel/Contract)

Location: Stratford, New Jersey
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Overview

  • Specialty: Social Services (LMSW required)
  • NJ Social Work License required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in social services
  • Experience with acute care discharge planning or homecare/community discharge planning
  • This is not a counseling MSW position
  • First-time travelers are welcome
  • Weekend Requirement: Every 4th weekend
  • Holiday Requirement: 1 holiday required
  • No on-call duties
  • Floating required to nearby facilities within the system
  • Charting system used: Epic
  • Scrub color: Mocha Brown

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of specialty experience (Social Services)
  • Prior travel experience not required

Certifications & Licenses

  • Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) with NJ license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and other certifications as applicable may be required depending on role specifics (verify with agency)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
  • Education verification (official transcript acceptable)
  • Physical exam within 2 months of start
  • Fit mask test within 12 months prior to start (3M 1870+ model required)
  • Immunizations and health documents:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (current)
    • Negative TB test (Qgold or TSPOT within 90 days) or chest X-ray if positive
    • Annual TB questionnaire
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella vaccinations or positive titers
    • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
    • Varicella vaccinations or positive titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
  • Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 60 days prior to start
  • COVID-19 vaccine no longer required prior to start, but medical/religious exemptions require mask use and booster is preferred for NJ locations

Additional Requirements

  • 2 professional references within 2 years of start
  • Work history verification for New Jersey candidates (minimum 1 year prior to start, allowing 30-day gaps)
  • Facility-specific education modules (~6 hours) to be completed prior to orientation
  • Signed acknowledgements for safety manual and pass/fail testing during orientation
  • Pass/fail basic dysrhythmia exam during orientation (failure results in contract cancellation)

Notes

  • Floating to other nearby facilities within the health system is required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • This role focuses on discharge planning rather than counseling
  • Scrub color is mocha brown
