Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (PACU) - Travel/Contract

Location: Flagstaff, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (PACU)
• Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:00 - 06:30), including weekends
• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty
• First-time travelers: Accepted
• Weekend Requirement: Yes
• On-Call: No
• Floating: Required to float to TASC (Ambulatory Surgical Center) within hospital premises
• Blocked Scheduling: Yes
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week (facility may call off up to 6 shifts during the 13-week assignment)
• Patient Population: All age groups from pediatric to geriatric
• Unit Details:

  • 6 pre-op bays
  • 8 PACU bays
  • 4 Phase II bays

Licenses & Certifications Required

• Active, unrestricted Arizona RN License or valid participating compact license (pending submission accepted)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• CPAN (Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse) - Preferred but not required

Additional Requirements & Policies

• Must be willing to float to outpatient center on hospital premises
• Adherence to facility quality and patient safety standards (e.g., medication administration with BCMA)
• Must complete facility-specific job description and policies prior to start
• Required to complete various background checks and verifications within 30 days of start
• Required health documentation includes:

  • Physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to perform essential job functions
  • Fit mask test (N95) within 1 year, updated annually
  • Immunizations and/or titers for Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year, updated annually
  • Drug screening (10 panel) within 30 days of start, updated annually
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination form (masking required if declined)
  • COVID vaccination or signed declination form
• Must complete competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests within 1 year of start
• Two professional references required (one from most recent employer within 1 year)
• Employment application with 3 years of work history and documentation of gaps required
