Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Med Surgical) - Travel/Contract

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA provider or AHA RQI only (No Laerdal RQI)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Required for this RN position; AHA provider or AHA RQI only
• NIHSS: Preferred but not required

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Med Surgical nursing or comparable/higher acuity area.
• No explicit prior travel experience required.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Background Checks

• 7-year background check within 30 days, including aliases and multiple databases (SS Trace, Sex Offender, National Criminal, FACIS III, etc.)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
• Education verification required (ADN or BSN and licensure mandatory)
• Illinois-specific fingerprinting for candidates without an Illinois state license (must be done in Illinois)
• Abuse registry search not required for this facility

Health & Immunization Documents (Must be current and compliant)

• Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually
• Fit mask test within 1 year (specific mask models required)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination or declination (within 10 years)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• TB questionnaire if positive TB test
• Proof of immunity or vaccination for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (declination allowed)
  • Varicella
• Drug testing: 9-panel minimum within 30 days of start, updated annually
• Flu seasonal vaccination/documentation for 2025-26 season or approved medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)

Facility Specific Documents

• Passport-style photo for badge (plain background, forward facing, no headgear)
• COVID-19 and Influenza exemption forms (medical or religious) must be completed and approved at least one week prior to documentation due date

Employment History & Verification

• Current resume covering last 7 years of employment
• Explanation required for any employment gaps longer than 30 days
• Two professional references required
• Employment verification for 7 years required (third party or in-house)
• Skills checklist for assigned and float units, updated annually

Additional Notes

• Candidates must have a valid Illinois RN license (pending licenses not accepted)
• Prior travel experience is not required for this position
• Candidates must be able to meet all state and facility-specific compliance and documentation requirements before start date
