Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity

Location: Middlebury, Vermont
Contract Length: 16 weeks

Job Description

• Rotating weekly and weekend call schedule (minimum every other weekend or adjusted as needed)
• Experience with C-sections required
• Scrub experience highly preferred; strong circulator experience accepted
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years is required and non-negotiable
• Minimum 1 year unit experience required
• Prior travel experience required

Certifications Required

• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
• AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) may be required depending on unit
• State RN license verification (primary source within 30 days of start)
• NURSYS verification (if applicable)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of unit experience in specialty (Registered Nurse)
• Prior travel experience explicitly required

Orientation & Scheduling

• Bi-weekly orientations on Mondays
• No block schedules; work Monday through Sunday with rotating shifts
• Must explain any employment gaps over 90 days
• Reliable personal or rental vehicle strongly recommended due to lack of public transportation
• Vehicles should have all-season or snow tires from November through April

Facility & Compliance Requirements

• Complete and detailed work history required (including bed count, EMR, facility type)
• Background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• Education verification based on highest degree
• Various competency exams including medication/pharmacology and color blindness testing
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• N95 Fit Test required prior to assignment and updated annually (3M Aura 1870+ preferred for Labor & Delivery)
• Immunizations and health documents required: Tdap, TB test, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu vaccine or exemption, COVID-19 vaccine or declination
• Drug testing may be required depending on facility location
• Vermont Adult and Child Abuse Registry consent and background checks required for Vermont placements
• COVID-19 testing protocol and questionnaire must be completed prior to start
• Completion of EPIC and Cornerstone training modules prior to start (approximately 8 hours, non-billable)

Additional Notes

• Must comply with facility dress code and telephone usage policies
• Photo for badge required two weeks prior to start (passport style, plain background)
• Auto insurance required if using personal vehicle for work (Home Health and Hospice specialties)
• Various facility-specific forms and attestations must be completed timely (e.g., auto registration, emergency contact, vaccination declinations)
