Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics - Travel/Contract

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
• Trauma experience required
• Pulmonary function testing (Spirometry) preferred
• 1st time travelers accepted
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

Patient Population

• Infants to Geriatrics
• Primarily Adult RRT but will work with Pediatric intubated patients

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• Georgia RRT License

Work Setting & Skills

• Level 2 trauma center, interventional stroke certified
• Level 3 NICU and regional transport resource
• Responsibilities include:

  • Managing non-invasive and conventional ventilation
  • Aerosol therapy
  • Bedside pulmonary function tests
  • Performing arterial lines
  • Oxygen management
  • Patient education
  • Performing arterial and capillary blood gases
  • Drawing from lines

Schedule & Work Conditions

• RTO (Return to Office) max 7 days
• Weekends: Every other weekend
• Floating: Yes, within facility and sister campus as needed
• Call: None
• Holidays: Expected to work major holidays if they fall during assignment (see below)

• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving/Black Friday
• Christmas Eve and Day

Compliance & Orientation

• Full compliance required to start on time
• Non-compliance results in 2-week push back due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
• Number of Non-Billable Orientation hours depends on contract length

Required Documentation & Health Requirements

• Background check (including education verification) required before start
• Diplomas/transcripts required for RRTs
• State of Georgia RRT license verification within 30 days prior to start
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months
• TB questionnaire updated annually
• Immunizations:

  • 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella)
  • Hepatitis B series or signed declination
  • 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer
• Flu vaccination or declination required (seasonal)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (no pending results allowed)
• References: 2 clinical references required
• Skills checklist updated within 12 months
• Work history verification of most recent employer required (can be pending at start with proof)

Competency Exams (Aya Required)

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (for RNs and LVNs)
• Color Blind Testing (all candidates)
• Competency Exam (Nursing and Allied)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (for Tele, MS/Tele, IMCU, ER, Cardiac step-down, ICU, PCU)

This position is ideal for respiratory therapists with at least 1 year of experience, comfortable working in a trauma and NICU setting, and holding the required certifications and licensure for Georgia.
