Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support): Required for all candidates (AHA provider or AHA RQI accepted; RQI provider like Laerdal not accepted)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute): Required for all Behavioral Health clinical candidates (may be completed onsite twice per month)
• ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM: Required or recommended for specific RN/unit positions (review as applicable)
• State License Verification: Must be verified through state licensing board within 30 days of assignment start
• NURSYS Verification: Required within 30 days of assignment start for RNs

Experience & Requirements

• Must have at least 1 year of experience in the specialty or comparable/higher acuity area
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
• 2 professional references required
• Current resume including last 7 years of employment with explanations for any gaps longer than 30 days
• Skills checklist required for assigned and float units (updated annually)
• Employment verification for last 7 years required

Background & Compliance Checks

• 7-year background check required within 30 days, including all aliases and multiple databases (SS Trace, Sex Offender, National Criminal, FACIS III, etc.)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Education verification required for highest level of education (ADN or BSN for RN)
• Fingerprinting via Illinois Health Care Worker Registry required if no Illinois state license
• Abuse registry search not required for this facility

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually
• Fit mask test within 1 year (specific approved masks)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination or declination (within 10 years)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• TB questionnaire if positive TB test
• Proof of immunity or vaccination for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (declination allowed)
  • Varicella
• Drug testing: 9-panel minimum within 30 days of start, updated annually
• Flu seasonal vaccination/documentation required for 2025-26 season; religious or medical exemptions require facility approval
