Travel Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - NICU

Location: Margate, Florida
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Level III NICU with willingness to float to Adult units
• Beds: 12
• Staffing: 5-8 staff including Director, permanent RRTs (2-3), and per diem help
• Shifts:

  • Day: Director, lead RRT, 2-3 RRTs
  • Night: On-call team (varies by volume)
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:1 or 2:1
• Equipment: High Frequency Ventilator (JET), Oscillator, oxygen cylinders, concentrators, nebulizer, suction machine, CPAP & BiPAP machines
• EMR System: Meditech

Required Qualifications

• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Licenses: Valid Respiratory Therapist (RT) License/Certification
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital RRT experience
• Skills:

  • Competency with High Frequency Ventilator (JET) and Oscillator
  • Ability to float between NICU and Adult units
• Preferred:

  • Stroke education and experience
  • Previous experience with Meditech EMR system

Job Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care, treatment, and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies including asthma, pneumonia, and emphysema
• Work collaboratively with physicians and the healthcare team
• Maintain active disciplinary approach and patient care focus in a fast-paced environment
