Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Germantown, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Experience Requirements

• Minimum Specialty Experience: 3 years recent experience required (first-timers not accepted unless 3+ years recent experience)
• Level I Trauma Experience Required
• Large hospital experience preferred
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

Work Schedule & Conditions

• On-Call: As needed
• Weekend Requirement: As needed
• Block schedule: Not open to block schedules, but weekend block may be considered or discussed during interview
• Locals: Not accepted (strict 100-mile radius rule)
• Pending License: Not accepted; must comply with Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) guidelines

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC only, required for all candidates except some allied health roles
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required for ER, ICU, Tele, Stepdown, PACU, Cath Lab, Dialysis, L&D, and OR travelers at this location
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Required for Pediatrics, ER, PICU, and some OR travelers
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Required for Newborn Nursery, Postpartum, NICU
• NIH Stroke Certification – Required for all RNs except those at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) – Required for Labor & Delivery within 2 years of start
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – Preferred for ER, not required

Licensure

• Tennessee RN License required or multistate license under NLC
• Must submit copy of professional license with application

Background & Compliance Checks

• Background Check within 60 days of start including statewide, county, federal, and education verification
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and annually thereafter
• Sex Offender Search and Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry Search (TN only) required
• Education Verification required (diploma/transcript not accepted in lieu)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical Exam within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet job demands
• Negative TB test (2-step PPD, Q-Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year, updated annually
• Immunizations: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters if needed)
• Hepatitis B: 3-shot series, positive titer, or signed declination
• Flu Vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (declinations not accepted)
• Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start (no pending compliance allowed)
• Fit Mask Test: 3M N-95 mask fit test within 1 year, must pass without limitations

Documentation & Other Requirements

• Two recent professional references required
• Skills checklist and competency exams must be current (within 1 year) and updated annually
• Photo badge with strict guidelines required prior to start
• Driver’s license must be included with submission
• Must sign confidentiality acknowledgment prior to start

Dress Code

• Navy blue scrubs for RNs
• No prints or embroidered scrubs allowed
• Business casual with white lab coat for RN Case Managers

This position is for experienced Registered Nurses with trauma and acute care background, ready to work in a Level I Trauma Center with strict compliance and credentialing requirements.
