Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Dubois, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Requirements

• Licensure:

  • PA or Compact RN license in hand
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required
  • NIH Stroke Certification required (must be renewed annually)
• Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Shift/Float:

  • Float required
  • Every other weekend schedule
• Dress Code:

  • Scrubs: Navy blue or White
• Candidate Eligibility:

  • First-time travelers are welcome
  • No local candidates within a 50-mile radius

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID required
• 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, including:

  • SS Trace
  • County searches for last 7 years of locations lived/worked/schooled
  • Nationwide and Sex Offender checks
  • PA Statewide Patch Certificate
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check required
• HHS/OIG check required
• Education verification required (transcripts, diplomas, or 3rd party verifications accepted)
• PA FBI fingerprinting required within 12 months of start (must be completed in PA)
• NURSYS verification required for RN license
• 2 professional references within last 3 years required
• PA Child Abuse (Childline) search required within 1 year of start

Competency and Training Requirements

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
• Competency Exam (as applicable)
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification required for Emergency Department, Behavioral Health, and Acute Care units (annual certification required)
• Comprehensive Crisis Management certification required for Emergency Department, Behavioral Health, and Acute Care units (annual certification required)

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test (PPD, Q Gold, or TSpot) within 6 months of start or chest X-ray within 5 years
• Tdap vaccination within past 10 years (declinations accepted with facility form)
• Immunizations or proof of immunity (vaccines, titers, or declinations accepted with facility forms) for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination required during flu season (Nov-April); mask required if declined through 3/31
• COVID vaccination or facility-specific declination required

Additional Notes

• Photo (passport style, no filters) required for badge
• Various facility-specific orientation packets, acknowledgements, and quizzes must be completed prior to start
• Breathalyzer test not required for this location

Prior Travel Experience

• No prior travel experience required; first-time travelers are accepted.
