Registered Nurse (Labor and Delivery) - Travel/Contract Position

Location: Ronceverte, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (Labor and Delivery)
• Shift: Days, either 3x12 or 4x12 hours, with call depending on census
• Schedule: Every other weekend; blocked scheduling is acceptable
• Patient Ratio: 1:3
• Start Date: ASAP
• Scrub Color: Navy blue

Experience Requirements

• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required; first-time travelers accepted

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA approved
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA approved
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring)
• AWHONN (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses)

Licensure

• Active RN licensure required
• Must be located more than 75 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)

Vaccination & Health Requirements

• Flu vaccine required during October 2024 - March 2025 flu season; declinations not accepted
• COVID-19 vaccination is not mandatory; proof of vaccination or signed declination accepted
• Other required immunizations or proof of immunity:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within past 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 3 months) or annual TB questionnaire for positive responders
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella - positive titer or vaccination series with boosters as needed
  • Hepatitis B - documented series or positive titer, with declination allowed if series completed and titer negative
• Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start

Additional Requirements

• Must clock in and out to receive payment
• Any missed shift requires a make-up shift during the same work week or pay period
• Government-issued photo ID required
• Background checks required within 1 year of start and updated annually (including SS trace, county searches, nationwide sex offender check)
• Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests required
• Facility-specific learning modules and confidentiality agreements must be completed prior to start
• Physical exam required within 1 year of start
• Fit test for N95 masks required within 1 year of start and updated annually

System Preferences

• Cerner experience preferred

Notes

• Previously employed permanent staff at this facility must wait 2 years before being hired as a traveler
• Vaccine exemption requests (medical or religious) require completion of specific forms and approval before starting
• Flu vaccination must be completed by November 12, 2024, or candidate may be removed from assignment
