Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 30
• Patient Ratios: 1:6
• Staffing: Clinical Coordinators, Unit Secretary, Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), Case Management
• Equipment Used: Walkers, IV pumps, Sequential Compression Devices (SCDs), etc.
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements: 4 weekend shifts per 28-day schedule; includes holiday rotation
• Floating Policy: Rotation with other staff
• Patient Experience Goal: 72% utilization of communication boards

Required Qualifications

• Licenses: Registered Nurse License
• Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in Medical-Surgical nursing or related specialty
• Advanced Skills Needed:

  • Experience with respiratory diseases/illnesses
  • Renal disease management
  • Gastrointestinal illnesses/diseases
  • Telemetry monitoring
  • Central Venous Catheters (CVCs)
  • Indwelling catheters
  • Heparin drips (gtts)
• Soft Skills: Teamwork, compassion, collaboration, and communication skills

Dress Code

• Navy Blue Scrubs
