Job Description

Clinical Duties

• Work under the guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist
• Follow established plan of care and goals
• Provide direct patient care including physical, electrical, mechanical, and heat treatments
• Conduct individual and group Physical Therapy activities
• Educate family and community
• Participate in interdisciplinary team discussions and hospital rounds
• Assist in program development and serve as a resource in areas of expertise
• Participate in student programs and rotations
• Provide in-services for the rehabilitation system
• Cross-train and provide coverage in other Rehabilitation Services departments as needed

Administrative Duties

• Document in electronic health records timely and accurately
• Communicate any limitations affecting documentation to leadership
• Maintain complete and legible patient records
• Participate in committees, task forces, and process improvement initiatives
• Demonstrate effective time management
• Supervise Rehab Clinical Assistants, PTA students, and volunteers

Physical Requirements

• Considerable standing or walking
• Regular lifting of light objects (20 lbs or less) and assisting with heavier lifting/moving of patients
• Some fatiguing physical motions and minor straining positions

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test (PPD or Q Gold/Tspot) within 45 days of start
• Annual TB questionnaire
• Required immunizations or titers:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (must include pertussis)
  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption (medical/spiritual) required for candidates starting after 11/1
• 10-panel drug test including Marijuana/THC within 45 days of start
