Job Summary: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Bel Air, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule & Work Requirements

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (Nights)
• Every other weekend required
• Holidays required as scheduled
• Floating required within specialty, sister units, and lower acuity areas as needed

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in ICU, Critical Care, or PACU
• First-time travelers accepted (no prior travel experience required)

Certifications Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA only

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• I9 or Attestation required prior to start
• Government Issued Photo ID required
• Background checks including 7-year criminal search, SSN trace, nationwide checks, sex offender registry, and education verification
• Maryland State Exclusions List check within 30 days of start
• Drug testing: Negative 9 or 10 panel drug screen within 30-45 days prior to start (instant tests not accepted)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start including Latex Screen
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (required for pediatric and certain units)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines/boosters)
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer or declination accepted, series not accepted)
  • Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines/boosters)
• Flu vaccine or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 6 - Mar 31)
• COVID vaccine not required for this location but documentation collected for tracking

Competency & Training Requirements

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (score 80% or higher)
• Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
• Competency Exams as applicable by specialty/unit (score 80% or higher)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for all units except certain roles)
• NIH Stroke Certification (updated annually, required except for OR, PACU, Family Birth Pavilion)
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training as applicable
• Facility-specific job description and confidentiality agreements must be signed prior to start
• Facility-specific orientation and training including Epic Portfolio Training Test Out option

References & Employment History

• Two professional references required, including at least one supervisor/manager or charge RN
• Employment application/resume completed within 30 days of start
• Verification of previous 5 years of employment history required (attestation accepted if necessary)

Additional Facility-Specific Requirements

• Badge photo (passport style with solid white/beige background)
• Completion of various facility-specific documents including confidentiality agreements, dress code review, appearance standards, parking and vehicle registration, OSHA questionnaire, and hygiene policies
• Completion of self-learning program prior to start
