Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele Float RN)

Location: Rochester, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Start Date: January 27, 2026
  • Shift: 3x12 hour shifts (07:00 - 19:00) with optional 4x12 shifts upon approval
  • Specialty: MS/Tele Float RN
  • Floating: Required (this is an overhire float unit)
  • First Time Travelers: Accepted
  • Local Candidates: Must live more than 75 miles from the facility
  • Charting System: EPIC experience required

Licensure & Certifications

  • New York RN License: Must have license in hand before start
  • BLS: Required (AHA Provider/Instructor/RQI accepted)
  • Additional Certifications (as required by unit):
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
    • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
    • NIH Stroke Certification
  • State License Verification: Primary source verification required within 30 days of start
  • NURSYS Verification: Required within 30 days of start for RN

Experience Requirements

  • Specialty Experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum 2 years (default for travel RN roles)
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first time travelers accepted)

Required Background Checks & Verifications

  • 7-year criminal background check (including felony checks) within 3 months of start
  • SSN Trace, National Criminal, National Sex Offender checks
  • Education verification from primary source (hard copies not accepted)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 3 months of start and monthly thereafter
  • Foreign equivalency education evaluation if applicable
  • Transcript/Diploma if education verification is not on file
  • Employment verification of at least 2 past employments (Aya direct candidates)

Health & Compliance Requirements

Candidates must complete all health-related requirements and lab work within 5 days of signing the contract:

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start (updated annually)
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific mask types accepted)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
  • TB questionnaire (in lieu of annual TB test renewal)
  • Immunizations or positive titers for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (surface antibody positive titer, completed series, or declination)
    • Varicella
  • Drug screening within 30 days of start (includes amphetamines, cocaine, fentanyl, heroin, opiates, etc.)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination (required during flu season)
  • Snellen eye exam within 1 year of start
  • COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required

Additional Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID required
  • Clear, passport-style photo for badge
  • Completion of facility-specific modules and attestations prior to start
  • Annual skills checklist and competency exams as required by specialty
  • Color blindness testing required for all candidates (not annual)

State-Specific Requirements (New York)

  • NYS Nurse Aide Registry check within 3 months of start (for certain care units)
  • Fingerprinting and disciplinary action search may be required for Mental Health, Behavioral Health, Home Health Aide, and LTC units
  • Sex Offender Registry check within 30 days of start
  • NY Medicaid Exclusion List check within 3 months of start and monthly thereafter

This position is ideal for RNs with MS/Tele experience who are comfortable floating and have EPIC charting skills. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
