Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Elizabethtown, Kentucky
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Requirements & Skills

• Minimum 1.5+ years of recent nursing experience (higher years of experience not indicated)
• Strong skills in:

  • Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
  • Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)
  • Airway management
  • Management of vented patients
  • Arterial line (Artline) management (preferred for ER)
  • Management of dysrhythmias and interpretation of dysrhythmias
  • Central line management
  • Management of IV drips and titration of IV vasopressors
  • Isolation precautions
  • Triage skills (ER/ER Holding only)
  • Computerized documentation
  • Nurse to patient ratios 1:1-2+
  • NIH Stroke Certification
  • Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
  • Continuous IV sedation
  • Management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) — required for ER only
• State Nursing License (Primary Source Verification)
• NURSYS Verification (for RNs)
• NIH Stroke Certification (must be current within 1 year unless otherwise stated)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) — as required by specialty/unit

Background & Verification Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check
• HHS/OIG check
• Education verification matching specialty (transcript or diploma acceptable if verification unavailable)
• State-specific abuse registry check (KY State Abuse Registry for Home Health specialties)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required by facility but required by agency standards)
• Fit mask test (annual) with accepted mask types; fit test waiver process available for failed tests
• Tdap vaccine within 10 years (declination acceptable for non-clinical)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• Baseline TB risk assessment within 90 days of start, updated annually
• MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) — 2 vaccines or IgG titer required; declinations not accepted
• Hepatitis B surface antibody titer, series, or declination required
• Varicella — 2 vaccines or IgG titer required; declinations not accepted
• Negative 9-panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start (facility requires 5-panel but 9-panel required by agency)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); declinations not accepted
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required; facility-specific exemption form must be completed
