Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Travel Contract

Location: Dayton, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Shift: 4x9 (Four 9-hour shifts, 36 hours/week)
  • Schedule: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, 6:30 AM - 4:00 PM
  • Floating: Traveler may be required to float to other units including high-risk respiratory/COVID units and other campuses within 15 miles.
  • Weekend/Holiday: Must be available to work every other weekend and holidays.
  • Cancellation: Employer reserves the right to cancel up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract with notice.

Requirements

Education & Certification

  • Associate degree in Allied Health with a major in Radiologic Technology
  • BLS certification (AHA required)
  • ARRT certification
  • ODH certification
  • Must have Operating Room (OR) experience
  • Must be fitted for N95 respirator before working on certain units (PAPR may be offered/needed)

Experience

  • Specialty Experience: Must have OR experience (years not explicitly stated, but OR experience is mandatory)
  • Prior Travel Experience: Preferred but not explicitly required

Skills & Knowledge

  • Independently perform diagnostic radiographic procedures using proper techniques and contrast media administration
  • Work within scope of practice and licensure for medication administration, equipment operation, and venipuncture
  • Coordinate patient flow and radiology department activities
  • Maintain equipment in good working condition
  • May perform procedures in other imaging modalities as needed
  • May have on-call responsibilities

Documentation & Compliance Requirements

Background Checks

  • 7-year criminal background check including SSN trace, national and county checks, and sex offender registry
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
  • Fingerprinting required only for specific units (not required for this role)

Certifications

  • ACLS (AHA) – required for RNs (not specified if required for this role)
  • BLS (AHA) – required for all clinical positions
  • Other certifications (PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM) as applicable to specialty or unit
  • State licensure verification (Ohio)
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam within 2 years
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam within 1 year or completed within 72 hours of contract signing (if applicable)

Health & Immunizations

  • Physical exam within 2 years indicating fitness to work
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray (annual updates if past positive)
  • Proof of immunizations or immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
  • Drug screening within 12 months (9 or 10 panel including marijuana)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
  • Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year, renewed annually

  • I-9 and E-Verify attestation
  • Government-issued photo ID
  • Proof of name change if applicable
  • Residency declaration if using a Compact Nursing license
  • Employment application/resume
  • Skills checklist updated within 1 year
  • References: 2 professional references within 2 years (1 must be a manager/supervisor) or employment verification if references unavailable

Additional Notes

  • Travelers are first to float at employer’s discretion and may be assigned medically appropriate duties outside their specialty cluster.
  • Travelers are not eligible for employee incentives.
  • Employer reserves the right to cancel the agreement with 2 weeks' notice without penalty.
  • No retroactive time off (RTO) will be added after offer acceptance; RTO approval is at manager discretion.
