Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job in Worcester, Massachusetts
Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse
- Location: Worcester, Massachusetts
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shifts: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
- Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday; must work a major holiday
- Hours per Week: 36 hours
Experience Requirements
- Specialty Experience: Minimum 18 months in acute care
- Additional Experience: Epic and Telemetry experience required
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
Licensure & Certifications
- Licensure: Massachusetts RN license required (in hand)
- Certifications Required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only (required for ER)
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit (check specific specialty requirements)
- Exams:
- Medication Exam required for all RNs
- Telemetry Exam required for RNs working in telemetry units (including Labor & Delivery)
- Must pass exams with minimum 80% on first day of orientation (only one attempt allowed for Telemetry Exam)
Required Documents & Compliance
- Valid Driver’s License or State ID
- Massachusetts Statewide (iCORI) Release (updated annually)
- 7-year Criminal Background Check (within 30 days of start)
- Education Verification (highest completed education)
- NURSYS Verification (RN license verification) within 30 days prior to start
- Physical Exam within 12 months of start, including physician statement of fitness to work without restrictions
- Drug Testing within 30 days of start (specific drug panels required)
- Immunizations or Declinations (with some declinations not accepted for Pediatrics, Maternity, NICU):
- COVID-19 vaccination or declination (most recent vaccine required)
- Flu vaccine or facility-specific declination (required during flu season)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B
- TB Testing:
- Two PPDs (one within 90 days, one within a year) or QuantiFERON/T-Spot within 90 days
- TB Questionnaire required for all candidates
- References: 2 references within 3 years of start
- Employment Application: Must include 7 years of employment history and explanation of gaps over 30 days
- Skills Checklist: Required prior to start and updated annually as applicable
Work Environment & Additional Notes
- Acute care setting
- Must be willing to work major holidays as scheduled
- Telemetry monitoring experience required for applicable units
- Compliance with all facility-specific health and background requirements is mandatory
This position is suitable for experienced acute care RNs with Epic and telemetry experience who are licensed in Massachusetts and comfortable working a travel contract with holiday shifts.
