Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Bel Air, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Schedule: 3 shifts of 12 hours each, nights
• Work every other weekend and holidays as scheduled
• Floating required within specialty, sister units, and lower acuity areas as needed

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience
• First-time travelers are welcome (prior travel experience NOT required)

Certifications Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
• NIH Stroke Certification (updated annually)
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM)

Competency Exams

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (score 80% or higher)
• Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
• Competency Exam relevant to specialty/unit (score 80% or higher)
• Age Specific Competency Exam (score 80% or higher)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (score 80% or higher)

Licensure & Verification

• State License primary source verification required
• NURSYS Verification for RN licenses
• Tech Certification Verification as applicable

Background & Compliance

• 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
• Education verification for highest level of education
• Maryland State Exclusions List check within 30 days of start

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (including Latex Screen)
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination (required for certain units)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray with annual updates
• Required immunizations or positive titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer or declination accepted)
  • Varicella
• Negative 9 or 10 panel drug screen within 30-45 days prior to start (instant tests NOT accepted)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
• COVID vaccine not required for this location but exemptions accepted if required elsewhere

References & Employment History

• Two professional references required, including at least one supervisor/manager or charge RN
• Verification of previous 5 years of employment history required (attestation accepted if necessary)
• Agency application/resume must be completed within 30 days of start

Additional Requirements

• Floating flexibility within specialty and related units
• Completion of facility-specific documents and agreements prior to start
• Compliance with facility appearance, confidentiality, and conduct policies
• Completion of OSHA questionnaire and other facility-specific training during orientation

This position offers a structured travel nursing opportunity with a reputable healthcare system in Maryland, suitable for RNs with at least 2 years of experience and those new to travel nursing.
