Registered Nurse (MS/Tele Nights) - Travel/Contract

Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (MS/Tele)
• Required Years of Experience: 2 years in MS/Tele
• First-time travelers accepted
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Float Requirement: Must float within scope to like units as needed
• Locals not accepted (50-mile radius rule from main campus)
• Pending license not accepted
• Guaranteed hours with call-off policy: 2 shifts per 13-week assignment guaranteed; after that, all contracted shifts guaranteed
• Return Staff Policy: Must be gone for 1 year to return as a traveler
• System contract limit: 2 contracts max (can extend once), then must be gone for 6 months before returning

Patient Ratios

• Nurse to patient ratio: 1:5-6

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• NIH Stroke Certification

Competencies & Testing

• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (annual renewal required)
• Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) with up to 3 attempts; remediation required after failed attempts
• Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing required for multiple units including Med Surg/Tele, ICUs, Step Down, Tele, etc.

Background & Health Requirements

• Background check required within 6 months of start (includes SSN trace, 7-year county residence, nationwide search, sex offender search, international search if applicable)
• Physical exam required within 1 year, updated annually
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start, annual renewal required
• Immunizations required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within last 10 years)
  • Rubeola (Measles) - titer or 2 vaccines
  • Mumps - titer or 2 vaccines
  • Rubella - titer or 2 vaccines
  • Hepatitis B - vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination
  • Varicella - titer or 2 vaccines
• Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days required
• Flu vaccine required year-round; medical or religious exemptions accepted with facility approval
• COVID-19 vaccine not required but accepted if available

• Night shift (MS/Tele Nights)
• Short-term acute care facility
• Level III Trauma Center / Teaching Hospital
• Total staffed beds: 733
• Charting system: Epic
• Scrub colors: Royal blue and white

Additional Notes

• Block scheduling accommodation is open for discussion
• Multiple facility-specific documents and acknowledgments required prior to start (e.g., confidentiality agreements, job descriptions, emergency contact forms)
• Photo for badge required (passport-style, professional)
• Parking registration required if driving to work

This position is ideal for RNs with at least 2 years of MS/Telemetry experience who are comfortable with night shifts, floating between similar units, and meeting certification and competency requirements. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
