Job Opportunity: Perinatal Sonographer (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Position Details

Experience & Certification Requirements

  • Years of Experience Required: Preferred 2+ years of Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) experience
  • First-timers Accepted: Yes
  • Certifications/Licenses Required:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
    • ARDMS (OB/GYN) certification
  • Radiation Badge: Not required for this position
  • State License: South Carolina license must be in hand prior to start (no pending state license accepted)

Scheduling & Work Rules

  • Block Scheduling: Possible with prior approval (not guaranteed)
  • Radius Rule: 60 miles
  • Locals Accepted: Yes, on a case-by-case basis
  • Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks; no call-outs allowed

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Background Checks:
    • Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
    • Includes SSN Trace, statewide, national criminal, sex offender registry, FACIS 3, and international searches if applicable
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
  • Education Verification: Required; diploma or transcripts accepted as placeholder if verification pending
  • Licensure Verification: Primary source verification required; all licensure hits must be approved by facility
  • NURSYS Verification: Required for RNs and LPNs/LVNs
  • References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
  • Employment History: Last 3 clinical employers verified; attestation letters accepted only if other verification methods exhausted

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical Exam: Initial and updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands
  • Fit Mask Test: N95 fit test within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually
  • Immunizations & Titers:
    • Tdap within 10 years or declination form required
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: Positive titer or vaccination series required; boosters if low or negative titer
    • Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination required
  • TB Testing: T-spot or Q-Gold within 90 days of start; annual TB questionnaire required
  • Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start; no instant tests accepted
  • Flu Vaccination: Required during flu season (Aug 1 - Apr 30); medical/religious exemptions accepted but no declinations
  • COVID-19 Vaccination: Not required but highly preferred; vaccination records must be uploaded or declination form completed

Orientation & Facility Specifics

  • Orientation: Unit orientation at work site, Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
  • Modules: Mandatory HR and compliance modules must be completed prior to orientation; estimated 2 hours
