Occupational Therapist Travel/Contract Job - Saint Peters, Missouri
Position Details
- Specialty: Therapy/Rehabilitation (Occupational Therapist)
- Location: Saint Peters, Missouri
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 14 weeks
- Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM; weekend rotation every 6 weeks
- Daily Caseload: 8-10 patients per therapist
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
- Weekend Requirement: Rotation
- On-call: No
- Floating: No floating within the facility; occasional float to sister facility (Progress West/St Peters) as needed
- Locals Accepted: No (must be outside 75-mile radius)
- Pending State License Accepted: Yes
- Return to Office Restrictions: 7 days

Experience Requirements
- Years of Experience Required: 2 years in specialty
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

- CVA Rehabilitation Experience: Required
- Adaptive Equipment Experience and Assessment: Required
- Hip Fracture/Total Hip Replacement, Knee Injuries/Total Knee Replacement Experience: Required

- Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s Disease Experience: Preferred
Certifications & Licenses

- State License (must be verified)
- Additional Certifications/Requirements:
- EPIC experience required
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., ACLS, PALS, CPI) – verify per unit specifics
Work Setting
- Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care
- Total Staffed Beds: 110
- Charting System: EPIC
- Orientation: Some initial orientation may occur outside typical schedule
- Parking: Free parking available
Job Responsibilities
- Patient lifting and transfer
- Patient and family education
- Safety and injury prevention
- Telephone communication
- Billing and documentation including assessment, discharge, evaluation, plan of care, and reassessments
Compliance & Background Requirements
- Government-issued ID required (Driver’s License for Home Health positions)
- Criminal background check within 6 months (7-year search including statewide and nationwide)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required quarterly
- Education verification required (highest education related to profession)
- State-specific background checks as applicable
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, must include specific panels and be valid throughout assignment
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask testing required and must be renewed annually
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (with yearly questionnaire)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
- HIPAA Acknowledgement, Latex Allergy Questionnaire, Confidentiality Form, Hand Hygiene Policy, Fingernail Policy, Dress Code Policy must be reviewed and signed prior to start
- Facility-specific compliance education required annually
- Skills checklist and competency exams required, including medication/pharmacology competency and unit-specific exams

- Must provide two professional references (supervisors preferred)

- Candidates must adhere to facility policies including dress code and hand hygiene
- Floating candidates must sign attestation acknowledging float responsibilities
