Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics (Travel/Contract)
Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Position Details
- Shift: Nights (Day shift available at a lower rate)
- Start Date: ASAP
- Schedule: Every Other Weekends (EOW), Holidays
- Float Requirements: Must be willing to float to sister facility, Emergency Department (ED), and Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- Facility Type: Busy Pediatric Hospital
Required Qualifications
- Licenses & Certifications:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with GA Respiratory Care Professional license
- National Board for Respiratory Care (NRBC) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- Education: Copy of diploma or associate degree program with RRT credentials
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years recent RRT experience (must have Pediatric experience)
- Must have NICU/PICU experience
- Recent travel experience preferred (not required)
- Skills:
- Intermediate/Advanced Flow Mechanics (FM)
- Ventilator management
- Triage
- Level I Trauma care
- Knowledge of V-60, Servo-i, Drager, Hamilton T-1, Vapotherm, Optiflow devices
- Electronic Medical Record: Epic experience required
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service)
- Social Security Card
- Proof of I9 and E-Verify or attestation
- Background check within 30 days of start (7-year criminal check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Education verification or diploma/transcripts as applicable
- NURSYS verification for RNs (if applicable)
- Signed Confidentiality and Security Agreement prior to start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required annually)
- Fit Mask (N95) test within 12 months of start (3M N95, specific sizes required)
- Tdap vaccine required (no declinations accepted; religious/medical exemptions require approval)
- Negative TB test (Qgold/Tspot within 3 months) or chest X-ray if positive TB history
- Proof of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella
- Hepatitis B: proof of positive titer or declination
- Drug testing: 10 panel + Nicotine (Cotinine) within 60 days of start
- Flu vaccination mandatory for current season (no exemptions accepted)
Additional Requirements
- Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
- Completed employment application/resume
- Updated skills checklist for applicable unit (annually)
- Annual competency exams including Pediatric Pharmacology
Summary
This is a travel contract opportunity for an experienced Pediatric Respiratory Therapist with NICU/PICU experience, working primarily night shifts in a busy pediatric hospital setting. Candidates must hold all required certifications and licenses, have strong ventilator and trauma skills, and be comfortable floating to multiple units. Compliance with extensive documentation, immunizations, and background checks is mandatory. Epic EMR experience is required. Prior travel experience is preferred but not mandatory.
