Description

Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Travel/Contract Position

Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Work Schedule

  • Days, 4x10 hour shifts
  • Variable days, Monday through Friday
  • Start and end times vary
  • Floating within scope between like units required
  • Block scheduling accommodation available
  • Locals not accepted (50-mile radius rule from main campus)

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of specialty experience required
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Prior travel experience not explicitly required

Certifications & Competencies Required

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): AHA or Military only; required for multiple units including ED, ICUs, Step Down, Special Procedures, etc.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or Military only; required for Sonographers & Radiology Techs
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): AHA or Military only; required for ED, OR, PICU, and certain other units
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required for L&D, FCCU, NICU
  • NIH Stroke Certification: Must be updated annually; required for ED, Psych ED, ICUs, Step Down, Med Surg, L&D, Express Care
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required and must be renewed annually; passing score of 80% required with up to 3 attempts
  • Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication): Required for awareness on multiple units; candidates have 3 attempts to pass with remediation required after failures

Background & Health Requirements

  • Background check required within 6 months of start (includes SSN trace, 7-year county residence, nationwide search, sex offender search, international search if applicable)
  • Physical exam required within 1 year, updated annually
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start; annual TB screening form required
  • Immunizations required:
    • TDAP (within last 10 years)
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (titer or 2 vaccines)
    • Hepatitis B (vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination)
    • Varicella (titer or 2 vaccines)
  • Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Flu vaccine required year-round; medical or religious exemptions accepted with facility approval and must be renewed annually
  • COVID-19 vaccination not required but accepted if available

Facility Policies & Additional Requirements

  • Return staff policy: Must be gone for 1 year to return as a traveler
  • System has a 2-contract limit (can only extend once), then must be gone for 6 months before returning
  • Call-off policy: 2 shifts per 13-week assignment allowed; after that, all contracted hours guaranteed
  • Multiple facility-specific documents must be reviewed and signed prior to start, including job descriptions, confidentiality agreements, emergency contact forms, and various acknowledgments (e.g., professional appearance, computer use, corporate code of conduct)
  • Photo for badge required (passport-style, professional, no large earrings, face piercings, unnatural hair colors, or head coverings unless religious)
  • Parking registration required if driving to work
  • Mandatory completion of orientation modules prior to start
