Description

Job Opportunity: Medical-Surgical RN (Peds/Adults)

Location: Quincy, Illinois
Specialty: Medical-Surgical - Pediatrics and Adults
Shift: 12-hour nights (7 PM - 7 AM), every other weekend
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Requirements

Certifications:
- PALS (required)
- BLS (required)
- NIHSS
Experience:
- Medical-Surgical RN experience required
- Pediatric experience is a bonus but not required
Other:
- COVID vaccine required
- ACLS not required

Unit Details

18-bed blended unit with an average daily census of 14 patients
Patient mix varies seasonally: 8-10 pediatric patients during winter respiratory virus season; otherwise mostly adult female med/surg patients
Nurse-to-patient ratio goal: 1:5 (adjusted for acuity, staffing, and patient age)
Core staffing per shift: 3 RNs and 2 CNAs
Decentralized staffing model (no centralized staffing to fill vacancies)

Systems

Current charting system: Allscripts (switching to EPIC in March)
Medication system: Acudose
