Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Telemetry (Travel/Contract)

Location: Mayfield Heights, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Night shifts, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
• Specialty: Med/Surg Telemetry
• Experience Required: Minimum 18 months recent and permanent Med/Surg Telemetry experience (highest requirement)
• Licensure: Must have permanent Ohio nursing license or compact state license in hand
• Certifications Required:

  • AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• Holiday Work: Must work at least every other holiday
• Assessments:

  • ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate test during orientation (passing score required)

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Background checks including:

  • FCRA compliant 7-year search
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM (monthly)
  • HHS/OIG (monthly)
  • Fingerprinting (FBI and BCI) within 12 months, updated annually
• Education verification (including international if applicable)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, including Snellen eye exam (required for new candidates signing 4/11/2025 or later)
• Fit mask test (3M N95) within 12 months, updated annually
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • Tdap vaccine every 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or titer
  • Varicella vaccination or titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
• Drug screening: Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually
• References: Two references from employment within one year, from a manager or supervisor (no co-worker references)
• Employment application including 3 years prior work history with at least 2 years clinical practice in acute care and similar area
• Annual skills checklist and competency exams (unit-specific)
• Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome)
• Pass/fail testing for ECG and medication dosing during orientation (not required for legacy candidates with less than 6 months gap between contracts)

Additional Notes

• Candidates must complete fingerprinting both through the agency and at the facility prior to start
• Physical exam must confirm ability to safely perform essential job functions, with accommodation if needed
• Candidates with latex allergies must notify to ensure appropriate supplies are stocked
• Candidates must complete all onboarding modules before clearance to start
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position

This position is ideal for experienced Med/Surg Telemetry RNs licensed in Ohio or a compact state, comfortable with night shifts and holiday work, and able to meet comprehensive health and compliance requirements.
