Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics (Travel/Contract)
Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Position Overview
- Work as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in NICU, PICU, and CVICU settings with pediatric patients.
- May float to various NICU and rehab units.
- Schedule options: 3x12-hour or 4x12-hour shifts.
- High-level care experience required (Level 4 NICU).
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Respiratory Therapy.
- Experience specifically in Pediatrics, PICU, and NICU settings.
- Must hold a valid Ohio RRT license at the time of application.
- Certifications required:
- NBRC (CRT and RRT credentials)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA preferred
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required for Emergency Department roles
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Required for NICU roles
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Required for NICU roles
Compliance & Onboarding Requirements
- Two fingerprinting processes required:
- One onsite at the facility before starting
- One through the agency
- Criminal background check (FCRA compliant, 7-year search) required prior to start and must be updated if there is a break in service of 2+ months.
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks.
- Transcript/Diploma verification required.
- Unit-specific competency exam required within 12 months of start and updated annually.
- HIPAA acknowledgment form required annually.
- Online training modules (4-5 hours) must be completed prior to orientation; modules must be completed on a computer using Chrome.
- Badge photo and badge pickup required before start.
Health & Safety Requirements
- Pre-employment physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming ability to perform essential job functions.
- Fit mask test within 12 months of start, updated annually (specific approved masks listed).
- Negative TB test (2-step PPD or Quantiferon Gold/T-Spot) within 6 months of start, renewed annually. Chest X-ray required if prior positive TB test.
- Required immunizations or titers:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (or signed declination)
- Varicella
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start, updated annually. Dilute results allowed one retest; instant drug screens not accepted.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 31 - Mar 31). No declinations accepted.
Work History & References
- Must provide 3 years of prior work history, including at least 2 years of clinical practice in an acute care setting similar to the assignment.
- Two recent satisfactory pre-employment references required.
- All prior work history, including any previous positions at this healthcare system, must be included in the profile.
Additional Notes
- All requests for time off and scheduling must be communicated during submission and interview.
- Candidates working with pediatric patients will complete fingerprinting onsite as part of onboarding.
- Fingerprinting results must be cleared before onboarding can be completed.
- Candidates must carry a valid government-issued photo ID while on assignment.
