Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity

Location: Martin, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Weekdays (Monday - Friday), 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

• On-Call Requirements:

  • Every third weekend
  • 2 or 3 weeknights per week
  • No call the week following a weekend call
  • Approximately 10 call days per month
  • Call rotation cycles through specific weekdays and weekends with a week off call in between

• Experience Required:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in nursing
  • PACU experience preferred
  • Experience with surgery cases including:

    • C-sections
    • Open hernia repairs
    • Laparoscopic gallbladders, appendix and hernia repairs
    • Laparoscopic tubals
    • Hysteroscopies with D&C
    • Uterine ablations
    • Carpal tunnel & trigger finger releases
    • Small orthopedic cases
    • Shoulder & knee arthroscopies
    • Podiatry cases
    • Pain management procedures

• Technical Skills:

  • Epic experience within the last 12 months is required and must be detailed on profile
  • Familiarity with equipment such as Bovie machine (cut/cautery), laparoscopic towers (camera, light source, insufflation)
  • Use of Stryker Surgicount system for sponge counts

Certifications & Licenses Required

• Current AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIH Stroke Certification (AHA, Apex, or HealthStream only; must be updated annually)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• State nursing license verification
• EPIC Test Out required (one attempt only; failure results in contract cancellation)

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• Annual TB questionnaire
• Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands
• N95 Fit Mask test within 1 year (no PAPR allowed; failure results in contract cancellation)
• Drug testing: Negative 10-panel within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
• Immunizations:

  • 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella)
  • Hepatitis B titer or series
  • 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season (no declinations accepted)
  • COVID vaccination or approved exemption required

Background & Documentation

• Background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Complete employment application/resume required
• Skills checklist as applicable to specialty

• Locals and first-time travelers accepted at the same rate
• On-call schedule and Epic testing policies are strictly enforced
• Facility appearance standards must be reviewed and signed prior to start
