Job Description

• ICU Registered Nurse with broad knowledge across various ICU specialties including OB, CICU, SICU, MICU, and PICU.
• Must be prepared to care for patients in any of these ICU areas.
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (3x12s).

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required.

Licensure & Certifications

• Current New Mexico or Multi-State Nursing License required.
• BLS (AHA) certification required.
• ACLS (AHA) certification required.
• PALS certification preferred (required to be obtained within 3 months of hire if working in ICU).

Additional Preferred Certifications

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) for L&D and RRT roles.
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) preferred for ER nurses.
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) required for Labor and Delivery nurses.
• NIH Stroke Certification required for ICU and Tele, preferred for ER.

Background & Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within one year of start, updated annually.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated with contract renewals.
• Fingerprinting required by New Mexico state law before start.
• Education verification (transcript or diploma) required.
• NURSYS verification as applicable.

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands.
• Fit testing for N95 masks (acceptable models include 1870+, 1860, 1860S, 8210). PAPR fittings acceptable for candidates with beards.
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity:

  • Tdap (declinations accepted)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (booster preferred if low/equivocal titers)
  • Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination
  • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (booster preferred if low/equivocal titers)
• 10-panel drug screen including THC within last 12 months; a second drug test with alcohol screening will be conducted at orientation.
• Influenza vaccination strongly encouraged; unvaccinated staff must wear masks during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31).

Documentation & Compliance

• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations.
• Completed employment application/resume.
• Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units.
• Performance evaluations required if previously employed over 1 year; internal evaluations if over 2 years.
• Various facility-specific documents and policies must be reviewed and signed prior to start (e.g., Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, Conflict of Interest, Drug-Free Workplace, etc.).
• Passport-style photo required for badge issuance (no filters, plain background, no facial piercings).

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
• Candidates must have a valid Social Security number before starting due to fingerprinting requirements.
