Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology (IR) Tech

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri

Position Details

• Shift: 4x10 hour days (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
• Call Requirements:

  • Call rotation with an average of 10 call days per month, including weekends
• Weekend Requirement: Call rotation includes weekends
• Holiday Requirement: Must be available to work 4 out of 8 major holidays (Thanksgiving Eve, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, 12/26, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week guaranteed (facility may low census/cancel 36 hours per contract)
• Locals: Candidates must live more than 70 miles from the facility (local candidates within 70 miles are NOT accepted)
• Floating: No floating outside scope of practice
• Pending License: Accepted at manager's discretion
• Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: RTO must be submitted with application; additional requests at manager discretion

Experience & Certifications

• Required Years of Experience: 2 years in specialty (Radiology / Cardiology)
• First-time Travelers: Accepted
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
• Certifications Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
• Epic Experience: Required

Clinical Requirements & Skills

• Experience with Outpatient, Inpatient, and Adult ICU settings required
• Proficient with PACS, C-Arm, Contrast, and Biopsies
• Experience with:

  • Stents, angioplasty, angiograms
  • Paracentesis, thoracentesis, nephrogram
  • Peripheral procedures, biopsies, drainages
  • Vascular studies, venous access
  • Neuro studies, genitourinary (GU), abdomen and pelvis, upper/lower extremity procedures
• Must be able to use and deploy:

  • Pushable/detachable coils
  • Micro catheters and micro wires
  • Snare kits
  • Injector systems (preferably ACIST)

Compliance & Onboarding Requirements

• Criminal background check within 12 months required
• Government-issued photo ID required
• Primary source verification of state license required prior to start (Missouri or Compact License accepted)
• Negative drug screen within 12 months required
• Physical exam within 1 year indicating good health required
• Fit mask testing (respirator fit test) completed onsite during first week of orientation; must be clean-shaven for fit test
• Immunizations and health documents required:

  • TB test (PPD, Qgold, or TSPOT within 12 months)
  • Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (annual)
  • COVID vaccine series preferred
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella titers or vaccination proof
  • Hepatitis B titer, series, or declination
  • Varicella titer or vaccination proof
• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules and training required
• References and skills checklist required

Summary

This is a travel contract opportunity for an experienced IR Tech with a minimum of 2 years of specialty experience. The role requires strong procedural skills in interventional radiology, call coverage including holidays and weekends, and compliance with extensive onboarding and health requirements. Candidates must be located more than 70 miles from the facility and be prepared for a 13-week assignment with a 4x10 day shift schedule.
