Job Opportunity: MRI Technologist (Travel/Contract)

Location: Harvey, Illinois

Job Details

• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks, open for extension)
• Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Work Days: Weekdays, weekends, and holidays
• Work Locations: Rotating between multiple sites (Harvey, Flossmoor, and Tinley Park locations)

Required Experience & Skills

• 3 to 5 years of experience as an MRI Technologist (highest requirement: 5 years)
• Experience using a 3T MRI machine (experience with Philips and Siemens equipment preferred)
• Experience performing prostate and rectal MRI scans

Certifications & Licenses

• Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA provider or AHA RQI only (RQI provider not accepted)
• State license verification required within 30 days of assignment start (Illinois state license or IEMA license if applicable)
• Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM may be required or recommended depending on position (mostly for RN/unit positions)

Background & Compliance Requirements

• 7-year background check including aliases, sex offender, criminal, federal, and education verification
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) fingerprinting required if profession does not require an Illinois state license (must be done in Illinois)
• Education verification required for highest level of education
• Drug testing: 9-panel minimum within 30 days of assignment start and updated annually
• Physical exam within 1 year and updated annually
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific mask types required)
• Immunizations and titers required within 2 business days of contract signing:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (with TB questionnaire if positive)
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer or vaccination series, declination allowed)
  • Varicella (titer or vaccination series, declination allowed)
• Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation required for flu season (10/1 to 3/31), with facility-approved medical or religious exemptions

Documentation & History Requirements

• Current resume including last 7 years of employment with explanations for gaps over 30 days
• At least 1 year of experience in the specialty or comparable/higher acuity
• Employment verification for 7 years required
• Skills checklist updated annually for assigned and float units
• Two professional references required

Additional Notes

• Candidates must be able to work rotating shifts and multiple locations
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
• Photo for badge (passport style, plain background, no headgear) required
• COVID-19 and Influenza exemption forms available but must be completed and approved at least one week prior to documentation due date

This position is ideal for experienced MRI Technologists comfortable with 3T MRI machines and performing specialized prostate and rectal scans, who are flexible with rotating locations and shifts including weekends and holidays.
