Position Details

• Specialty: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse
• Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (06:45 AM - 07:15 PM)
• Schedule: Weekend only shifts (Saturday, Sunday, Monday) as block schedules
• Weekend Requirement: Will work every other weekend
• Average Daily Census: 21 patients
• Years of Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty
• First-timers Accepted: Yes
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Licensure & Certifications

• Must have an active Illinois nursing license or be in the application process with ETA to apply
• Required Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS and PALS may be required based on unit/specialty
• Additional Skills Required:

  • IV therapy and phlebotomy experience
  • Blood product administration
  • Peripheral line care/management
  • PICC line management
  • Knowledge of isolation precautions

Work Environment

• Acute Care Hospital, Level I Trauma Center
• Magnet designated facility
• Total staffed beds: 562
• Charting system: Cerner
• Scrub color: Any solid color
• Parking permit required (no cost)

Floating & On-Call

• Floating within scope as needed per department
• No on-call required

Requirements & Compliance

• Background checks covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• Various state-specific criminal and registry searches required within 30 days of start
• Education verification required
• Competency exam required for clinical candidates
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, including labs within 7 days of contract signing
• Fit mask test required (specific mask types accepted)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• Immunizations or documented immunity required for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
• References: 2 professional references required for clinical candidates

Additional Notes

• Locals accepted with no radius restrictions
• Return to office (RTO) restrictions ideally no more than 5 days
• Guaranteed hours policy allows client to call off up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment without pay for cancelled hours
• Badge photo required within one week of signing contract
